great location. bed is comfortable; adequate desk. shower is good. so all one needs !
they need to sort the street door lock, and the front door to the hostal. both are a nuisance.

Exceptional
I had a great stay here. Irina (the receptionist) was in touch with me right up until my arrival, letting me know how to make my way from the airport to the hotel. On arrival, she showed me a map of the area which was really helpful. The room I stayed in was really big and so clean. I was on the quieter side of the building so no issues for me regarding noise. The location is amazing! About 5 minutes walk from Gran Via, 10 mins walk to Plaza Mayor and close to a few Metro stations for more travel around Madrid. Irina was also super helpful I telling me how to use the Metro too! I would absolutely stay again. Cleaning of the room available each day from 9-12. Spotlessly clean, great staff, super location :)
This wouldn't stop me staying again but a set of drawers in the room would be useful. The bed was a little hard but I guess that could be preference.
